To describe what one can expect from ‘Little Universe’ is no easy task. The performances captured within are emotive, adventurous, and wonderfully unpredictable.
Bold and experimental, A Moving Sound creates a listening experience that is powerful and unique. The band’s playful yet profound attitude is on clear display in a rollercoaster of an album. Their mercurial approach keeps you guessing and is wickedly enjoyable if you can keep up! At times meditative, the reflective tone can suddenly cede to an exhilarating, raucous rhythm and sweep you away on a wild wave of hefty beats and vigorous and vibrant vocals.
Lead vocalist Mia Hsieh displays a stunning range, singing with supreme control one moment, cheeky charm another, and with unbridled, primal passion the next. There’s some beautiful backup for Mia from heavenly harmonies on songs such as the aptly titled Sunset Glow, which creates an air of ease and warmth so palpable that you could wrap yourself inside.
